HISTORY_1to1.png

History

Makati High School, the first public secondary school in Makati, was established in 1968 through Municipal and Provincial Board Resolutions under Mayor Maximo B. Estrella to address the increasing number of elementary graduates.

The Makati Police Department basement housed the first 361 students and 14 teachers in 1968-1969 under Mr. Ruben H. Santos. Tuition was PhP 50.00 in six installments, with PhP 82,878.00 allocated for its operations.

By 1971, enrollment surged to 2,657, leading to accommodation issues. This was resolved by constructing an 8-room Quonset beside the Municipal Hall, renting a building for Home Economics, and later leasing Casa Hacienda from the Ayalas.
